Tapin is a free app for weekly golf leagues. Players keep score on the course, and match points, league handicaps and the standings add up by themselves. The whole league sees them the same night.
Scores on the courseEach group keeps one card on one phone: big buttons, strokes marked on the holes where they fall, the match status as you go. It works with poor signal and catches up later.
Handicaps worked outLeague handicaps from the best of each player's last rounds, at the allowance you choose. New players use a starting handicap until they have enough rounds.
Standings everyone seesPoints for every hole and the lower net total, plus the team total. The table updates the minute a card is in, and you can post it to the league's group chat.
Your league's formatTwo-person teams (A plays A, B plays B), match play, or Stableford against the field. Nine holes with front and back rotating, or eighteen.
Skins, closest to the pin, low netGross or net skins on complete cards, closest to the pin on the par 3s, and the week's low net and low gross.
A season that runs itselfA round-robin schedule, rain-outs, subs and absences. A reminder on league day tells each player who they play and which nine.
How it works
- The secretary starts the league: name, course card, format, first league night and the roster.
- Tapin makes the schedule and a six-character league code. Send it to the league.
- Players install Tapin, enter the code and pick their name. No sign-up.
- On league night each group keeps score; points, handicaps and standings update for everyone.
Questions
Is Tapin free?
Yes, for every player and the secretary, with every feature. The app shows ads, which is how it pays for itself.
Is the league handicap the same as a GHIN or WHS Handicap Index?
No. Tapin keeps a league handicap from the rounds played in the league, the way most leagues do: the average of each player's best recent scores over par, at an allowance. How league handicaps work.
Does everyone need the app?
One phone per group is enough to keep score. Everyone who installs it sees their matches, the standings and their handicap, and gets the league-day reminder.
How many players can a league have?
Up to 150 players, 60 weeks and 200 phones.
